Aorangi (1883)
Originally a whole plate glass negative but the emulsion stripped right off and the remaining plate has been discarded. A 12x9 photographic print made before the negative deteriorated is available. A slightly distant starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Aorangi (1883) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her fore and main masts and is flying the blue peter. A tug flying the New Zealand Shipping Co house flag is alongside the liner's port side. Tilbury is in the background.
