Deccan (1868)

A whole plate negative. A fair quality port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Deccan (1868) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two yards on each of her fore and main masts and none on her mizzen. Tilbury is in the background. The emulsion of the original negative has peeled off and the negative has been discarded. A sheet film copy negative has been produced from a 12x10 photographic print produced from the original negative in the 1950s. Negatives numbers G1866 and G2141 were taken on the same occasion.
