Faraday (1874)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the cable ship faraday (1874) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is shown as built with the iron framework encicling the stern and with four yards on her foremast. This is before the addition of extra accommodation amidships. She has buoys stored on her foredeck. Some of her crew are working on stagings over the side of the hull. Tilbury is in the background.
