Free Sea and Space Explorers pilot day

Date: Friday 4 September 2026

This is a free home education day (pilot) at the National Maritime Museum with STEM activities for children aged 5-12 years.

The day has a space and exploration theme, and it includes a Planetarium show, a visit to our Astronomers Take Over experience, and facilitated sessions pitched at the level of KS2.

Please use the form below to book for you and your family. Please do not book on behalf of other families or groups/networks.

Timetable

The day runs from 10am to 2.30pm.

If you cannot stay for the full day, please enter your expected arrival and departure times in the additional information box in the booking form.

A lunch break is timetabled into your day. Please ensure children bring their own packed lunch. You will be sharing the space with other families.

Capacity and supervision

  • No more than 1 adult per child
  • No more than 5 children per supervising adult

Due to capacity limitations, we ask that families limit the number of additional adults and siblings to allow as many home education families as possible to access the sessions.

Cancellations

This is a free pilot, but if your plans change and you can no longer attend this event, please email bookings@rmg.co.uk. The team can then release your booking for other home education families to book.

Once we've confirmed your booking, we'll email you a confirmation letter including a timetable.
