This event is taking place in Ocean Court and offers a unique opportunity to explore the creative journey and the themes of the artwork.
EVEWRIGHT’s work celebrates Black British stories and sparks dialogue about identity, heritage, and belonging in the UK today. Evewright Arts is passionate to seek out, find and preserve untold Black British stories from the diaspora through visual arts and storytelling.
About the installation
Unbroken was created as an outcome of the research journey undertaken by acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, EVEWRIGHT and poet and writer, Ionie Richards, as a creative response to the tragic events on board the British slave ship Zong.
Artist EVEWRIGHT presents a powerful installation of 16 large-scale banners spanning Ocean Court along with poetry from Ionie Richards and a visceral atmospheric stormscape.
Unbroken is a new installation curated by Evewright Arts as part of a five-month residency with Royal Museums Greenwich. The organisation is dedicated to seeking out, preserving and sharing untold Black British stories from the diaspora through visual art and storytelling.
