
Social Competition Terms & Conditions
- The giveaway organiser is Royal Museums Greenwich. By entering the promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
- The organiser reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice.
- This promotion is open to UK residents aged 16 or over, excluding employees of the Promoters, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request.
- To enter the giveaway, participants must post a photo of themselves dressed in their best pirate gear on either Instagram, Facebook or Twitter (NOT Instagram stories), using the hashtag #PirateWeekendGiveaway and tagging Royal Museums Greenwich on the relevant handle (see below).
- Please ensure that anyone else in your photos is happy to have their image shared on social media. Royal Museums Greenwich will ask the winner if they are happy to have their photo shared on our social media and to ensure that any others in it are happy for this to happen as well.

- The giveaway launches at 10am on Friday 19 September 2025 and closes at midnight on Sunday 21 September 2025. All entries must be posted between these times in order to be entered into the prize draw.
- The winning prize is:
- Rig Climb tickets for you and a friend
- City Cruises voucher for a 24-hour Family River Pass
- Old Royal Naval College passes for two
- A family tour voucher (for up to four people) and a pirate goodie bag from The Golden Hinde
- A year-long Royal Museums Greenwich Membership
- 2 x runner-up prize: Royal Museums Greenwich Day Pass.
- The prize does not include anything other than that specifically mentioned above, and there is no cash alternative.
- Internet access is required. Entrants must have a registered Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account to enter. No purchase necessary.
- Multiple duplicate entries, either from the same account or different accounts, will be disqualified.
- No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted from personal social media accounts. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
- Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
- The winner and runners up from the qualifying entries will be randomly selected at the close of the Promotion Period. The decision of the selection is final.
- The winners will be contacted via social media by 5pm on or before Monday 22 September with details of the Prize. If the winner does not respond within 7 days to confirm receipt of the prize, then an alternate winner will be selected.
- By accepting the prize, the winners accept that their name and further details will be shared with Royal Museums Greenwich in order to post the prize.
- This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. You are providing information to the Promoter and not to the social media platforms.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Royal Museums Greenwich excludes its liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense suffered by you, whether directly or indirectly and howsoever caused, in connection with the giveaway and use of any prize.
Pirate Fancy Dress Terms & Conditions
Please dress up like pirates, but don’t act like pirates:
- No weaponry, real or fake
- No alcohol or glass bottles
- Dogs to be kept on a lead and under the control of their owner. No pets, except assistance dogs. It is the responsibility of the owner to clean up any dog mess and remove it from site. (Please note, only assistance or accredited therapy / support dogs are allowed inside Museum buildings)
- No selfie sticks
- No noise nuisance (such as that from the use of radios and other electrical equipment, etc) or any behaviour likely to cause annoyance to other visitors or neighbours.
- From time to time the Museum or other authorised parties carry out photography and/or video recording in the Museum Buildings and Grounds, which may include visitors. By entering the Museums Buildings and Grounds, visitors and contractors agree to the Museum or any authorised party using any such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format.
