Join writer Angela Young as she relates the story of two courageous Titanic survivors, the subjects of her book The Aristocrat, the Able Seaman and the tragedy of Titanic.
As he commanded his lifeboat on the night Titanic sank, able seaman Thomas Jones recognised that Noël Leslie, Countess of Rothes, was ‘More of a man than any we had on board’ so he put her at the tiller of his boat.
Drawing on contemporary sources, personal papers and letters, Angela, Noël’s great-granddaughter, brings this incredible story to light – a story of courage in the face of unthinkable tragedy.
