Letter from Nevil Maskelyne to Edward Pigott with observations on on meridan observations of the Moon, the eclipses of Jupiter's moons, Abbe Toaldo and fireball meteors.

In this letter, Maskelyne comments on meridan observations of the Moon, the eclipses of Jupiter's moons, Abbe Toaldo and fireball meteors. Maskelyne apologises for the errors made by his assistant on measuring the polar distance of Eta Virginis and refers to using Hutton's book of logarithms. Maskleyne describes the determination of longitude using Jupiter's moons and mentions how other astronomers such as James Bradley [third Astronomer Royal at Greenwich] and Pere Hell [Vienna Observatory] used this method too.
