John James’s report of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Co.
John James’s report (dated 14 March 1895, of the IFC from his visit to Rangoon beginning 15 December 1894, for the Chairman Peter Denny. He reports on the fluctuating price of rice, the state of the railways and other government services, a proposed tramway from the Irrawaddy to the Chindwin River (with a sketch of the plan), the various properties and services of the IFC and their values. It has been edtied in pencil, with large portions crossed through.
