Notebook containing the second part of the memoir written by Arthur Edward Palmer. It describes events circa 1894-1898, beginning with his continued service on the composite screw corvette HMS RAPID (1883) on the Australia station, including visits to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. It goes on to cover his return home on the first class cruiser HMS CRESCENT (1892), service on the battleship HMS MAJESTIC (1895), flagship of the Channel Fleet, and over twelve months spent in hospital at Plymouth suffering from rheumatic fever. Lieutenant Robert Falcon Scott and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Review of the Fleet at Spithead in 1897 are featured. The volume is dedicated to his granddaughter Pamela Daphne Shirley.
