Also includes a souvenir of Scholars Summer Cruise, SS DORIC, 1933 kept by Margaret Owens, later wife of C. T. G. Lennard; and various photographs of Blue Star and White Star ships.

Administrative / biographical background
Charles Trevor Graham Lennard obtained his masters' certificate of competency in 1949, certificate number 50909, issued at London Poplar. He entered the merchant service in 1938 as third mate to the NORMAN STAR; serving as second mate to the LEONARD PEARCE in 1940, then serving on several vessels until he was appointed chief officer to the ROYAL DAFFODIL. Between 1942 and 1943 he was second mate to vessels including the ZAMALEK and EMPRESS QUEEN. His career as first mate began in 1946 starting in the CRANE, then REDSTART in 1948 and continued in this position until 1953 when he served as chief officer to the GREBE and EMPIRE PARKESTON and the AUK as first mate.
