Secret letterbook to and from Admiral Collingwood.
Letters of secret orders from Admiral Collingwood while on board HMS Dreadnought ,1805, acknowledging receipt of orders. Letter dated 22 October 1805 includes the death of Horatio Nelson; an account of the Battle of Trafalgar and the order in which the ships of the British Squadron attacked the combined fleet on 21 October. In the reverse of the volume are secret letters received by Collingwood from different correspondence such as the Admiralty, Lord Gardner and Lord Nelson. Also includes a letter from Spain regarding the terms for release of their wounded on 30 October 1805.
