Log kept by Hereford during his command of the wooden screw sloop HMS COLUMBINE in the East Indies, 1872-1873. It begins with an account of the voyage on P&O ship PERA to join the COLUMBINE. The main action of the log involves dealings with local chiefs at Ras-el-Khaima, re problems with dhows and prisoners. Illustrated frontispiece.
