An autobiography describing Royan's career in the Merchant Navy. Robert Royan began his career on the training ship HMS Conway in 1944 and on completion of his training he joined the Clan Line remaining with them throughout his career. Promoted to Master of the MV Nina Bowater in 1970, Royan was later promoted Commodore in 1988 and retired in 1990. Photographs with details of all the ships on which Royan served are included.
