P34233; A close view of the starboard side of the stern of the Swatow trader type junk T885H at anchor at Hong Kong but the precise location is unknown. The top of the mizzen mast and everything forward of the waist are out of the picture. Painted on the starboard side at the stern are the port number T885H, a block of three Chinese characters and the number 187. The junk has a tall perforated rudder mounted on an angled rudder post.

P34051; A slightly distant port quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of a deeply laden two masted trader type junk anchored at Penang. Her lug sails are stowed fore and aft but her mainsail has not been fully lowered. Two bamboo derricks are crossed just abaft the foremast and a light yard is crossed about halfway up the mainmast. She has a full bagged cargo. An accommodation shelter is aft and her boat is in the water tied to the stern.

P34279; A model of a steel anchor of the type used by Chinese junks. It has twin flukes hinged on a stock and a rod is fitted at right angles to the flukes and immediately above them. A swivel shackle is fitted to the top of the stock. The model, which is displayed on a table, was commissioned by D W Waters and made by Tung Ya and his assistants at the back of the Roman Catholic Church in Liu Kung Tao, near Weihaiwei.

Her port number and a larger number are painted on the starboard side of her bow but are not quite legible. Two other salt junks, a steam ferry and a cargo steamer are in the background.
