A group of shipping with a boat full of people going out to it
Drawing. This is perhaps intended as somewhere in the Thames (e.g. the Nore or off Gravesend), with the boat perhaps going out to the frigate seen hove-to behind the merchant vessel passing in front of it. A Thames barge heds to the left in the foreground and a small cutter or hoy is in the right distance. It is essentially a capriccio shipping group, without a specific location. [PvdM 3/13]
