English yachts saluting in a breeze

In the left foreground is a starboard bow view of a yacht before the wind. She is striking her topsail and firing a salute to another yacht, with a flag at the masthead, seen leeward through the smoke. On the right is a third yacht close-hauled on the starboard tack.

This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the Younger. It is a rapid sketch, which has been rather spoilt by being cut on the left. Some pencil may have been added by a later hand. This work is of an uncertain date.
