Three English ships getting under way

On the left, a ship viewed from abaft the starboard beam with her mizzen set and topsails atrip. On the right, a bow view of two ships which have set their fore courses also and are filling on the port tack.

This is a pencil and wash drawing by the Younger, signed ‘W.V.VJ’. It has been approximately dated by the style and watermark.
