Two English frigates in a light breeze

A free drawing showing a starboard broadside view of a frigate before the wind under courses, topsails, main staysail, spritsail and spritsail topsail. Another frigate is depicted on her port quarter.

This is an unsigned black chalk drawing by the Younger. According to Robinson it is very compositional in character. It has been very freely sketched with skies lightly hatched. It has been approximately dated by the style.
