H.M. Brig Frolic 16 guns.. slaver driven on shore, coast of Brazil
Hand-coloured lithograph depicting H.M. brig Frolic driven onshore at Brazil, while another ship is wrecked on rocks nearby (right hand side of the picture), an incident which may have taken place in 1853 (Mariner's Mirror. Vol. 1, 1911, p.159). This ship was the third Frolic in the Royal, and was a 16-gun 511 ton sloop launched in 1842 and sold 1864.
