Mallacca, with the Hope at anchor in the Roads

The artist James Wathen sailed to India and China in 1811 with his friend Captain James Prendergast. In 1814, Wathen published a two-volume account – ‘Journal of a voyage to India and China’ – illustrated with 24 colour prints of which this is one.
