A Prospective View of the Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich. Drawn by William Fabian, a Boy in the Royl Hosl School

Technique includes etching. Drawn by William Fabian, a boy in the Royal Hospital School. Cooke and Maule, the publishers, were two of the Hospital Chaplains. They wrote a history of it (1784; new ed. 1789) and a 'Description' of which the second edition was 1790 and went through many subsequent ones, including in 1808, from which this print probably comes. Compare PAD2239, apparently a re-engraving. [PvdM 9/05]
