Capture of La Furieuse Augt 6th 1809. From a plan by Captn Mounsey
La Furieuse is shown starboard-view in the foreground, whilst Bonne Citoyenne is shown port-view behind La Furieuse. La Furieuse has darker colouring than Bonne Citoyenne. Hand-coloured print.
Remark: Captain Mounsey by clever handling of the British sloop Bonne Citoyenne, steered a zig zag course raking the Furieuse with alternate broadsides, thus allowing his carronades to cool down before re-use.
