The 'Argus' Towing The First Russian Prize into Portsmouth Harbour
Print, looking towards old Portsmouth, with the Round Tower on the right and the naval steam sloop 'Argus' towing a Russian merchant vessel in. The latter has what is (presumably ) the red ensign - the usual senior Royal Naval one at the time - flying over Russian colours at the peak. The print presumably records the first prize taken at sea in the Crimean War. [PvdM 9/11]
