Slight study of a fleet of fighting vessels at anchor, possibly the Battlecruiser Force in the Forth, 1916-17

original art: drawing. This distant view of war ships lying at anchor or on moorings in two main liness abreast, from an elevated position overlooking them, may be a sketch of the Battlecruiser Force, probably on the Forth in 1916-17. Ignoring the third and fifth ships from the left (the two nearest the background coast) they are from extreme left: the stern of either 'Lion' or 'Princess Royal' and two 'Queen Elizabeth'-class ships, while the last two are the 'New Zealand'; and 'Australia' but not necessarily in that order. The nearest ship in the foreground is probably a fleet oiler. [BTodd/PvdM 1/13]
