Submarine J5 and rough sketch of another fighting vessel
Medium includes graphite. J5 was built by Devonport Dockyard and completed, as shown here, in June 1916. In 1917 her bow was raised level with the forward gun platform and in winter 1917-18 her gun was positioned on a raised platform level with the conning tower. The sketch at the top could be a torpedo boat or a torpedo boat destroyer of indeterminate type.
