Sussex (1756)

Scale 1:96. Plan shows the upper, main and lower deck of the hospital ship Sussex (1756). The drawing shows the cabins as fitted in black ink and requested alterations in red ink. The title of the plan is "Plans of His Majesty's Hospital Ship Sussex shewing in black the cabins as now fitted and in red the alterations requested. Plan of upper deck, main deck, lower deck". The plan has been signed by Henry Canham [Master Shipwright at Sheerness Dockyard 1813-1826]. This vessel was previously the 90 gun second rate ship of the line Union, before being renamed Sussex and converted into a hospital ship in 1799.
