A boy trainee from the 3-masted topsail schooner Sir Winston Churchill (1966) sitting in the stern of a boat in Portsmouth Harbour and eating an apple. The apple is from the boxes that were presented to the Sir Winston Churchill by John Roundell Palmer, Lord Wolmer, representing the Apple & Pear Development Council. The bow of the Sir Winston Churchill is visible beyond the right shoulder of the boy and the training ship Foudroyant (1817) is in the left background. Negatives numbers PM11725/11 to PM11730/37 were taken on the same occasion.
