View of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, at sunset, from Blackwall
A fluid watercolour sketch of the Royal Naval College (formerly Greenwich Hospital), apparently at sunset, with the adjacent riverfront on either side, taken from almost due north, on the Blackwall side of the Isle of Dogs. Small-scale shipping is shown in the river but the manner of sketching reveals no detail. A bulky building in the distance, far right, may be Mumford's Greenwich Flour Mill (1897) close to Deptford Creek at the west end of Greenwich High Road.
