Various vessels and figures combine to make up this busy beach scene. To the right is a starboard quarter view of a smalschip, behind which is a starboard broadside view of a kaag at anchor. In the right foreground, closer to the shore, is a weyschuit. To the left is another kaag, high and dry on the beach and surrounded by figures. In the distance a larger ship fires a salute.
