Display label
Printed display label: 'GYROPHORA HYPERBOREA OR TRIPE DE ROCHE. Grows on rocks and is abundant on the barran grounds towards the Arctic Sea near the Coppermine River, North America. When boiled it will allay hunger, but is very nauseous. In 1821, for several days, I had no other food than Tripe de Roche and scraps of leather. Geo. Back.'
