An Indian miniature of Zeenat Mahal (1823–1886), wife and favourite of the King of Delhi and last Mughal Emperor. Zeenat Mahal was the de facto regent of the Mughal Empire on behalf of her husband, the Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar (1775-1862). They married in 1840.
