On 19th December 1981, Penlee RNLI station lost all 8 crew members of the 'Solomon Browne', along with 8 people aboard the vessel they were attempting to rescue, the 'Union Star'. This photograph was taken in the boathouse of the old Penlee station that hasn't been used since that night.
