Tenby luggers

This view of the clinker-built Tenby lugger Seahorse, regd. M170, is of the same scene depicted in negatives P75475/6, in this case viewed from above the port bow quarter. The view confirms that the foredeck is planked fore and aft, the planking supported at the stern end by a heavy beam bearing the mainmast step bracket and square metal housing for the bowsprit's aft end.The section between the transom and central thwart shows the boat to have close fitting floor boards, and sternsheets and side benches. The stern mooring lines are tied to the aft thwart; the bow mooring line is secured to the mast bracket.
