Emsworth luggers
A clinker-built Emsworth lugger is seen bow-on, aground on shingle at low tide with houses and other buildings beyond on the other side of a shallow channel. The shallow-hulled boat has its mast stepped but without shrouds; the halyard serves as a windward shroud. What appears to be apparatus for net-hauling, with nets visible, is outboard of the port gunwale, apparently just forward of the mast.
