St Ives pilchard driver Agnes. Last sailing pilchard driver fishing from Newlyn
The Agnes, a St Ives pilchard driver, purported to be the last of its type to work under sail, is seen from a punt approx. 50ft astern of it, becalmed on a port reach on smooth water. Its sails hang slack and a sweep extends from the starboard bow. One crew member is visible in the stern, while the helmsman is obscured to leeward of the mizzen lugsail.
