The China War 1857. Sunset sky, a round fort with pointed tower on an island; a Junk at right
Following the Arrow Incident, the British and the French joined forces under Admiral Sir Michael Seymour and attacked Canton from the river. After taking the fort near the city with little effort, the British Army attacked and occupied Canton in late 1857.
