A Sri Lankan man tipping water on himself
A black and white portrait photograph of a Sri Lankan man using a bucket on a rope to wash. He is standing with his right side facing the camera. He is wearing a checked sarong-like garment covering his legs and is barechested above. His right arm is streched upwards, his hand holding a taught rope tied to the bucket and secured to something above him and out of frame. His right arm is bent, his hand holding the base of the bucket. The bucket is tilted so that water is cascading out over his head, shoulders and front. He stands in some form of pool or basin with a curved stone rim. The sarong-like garment and water are covering his feet. A house made of woven natural materials can be seen in the background, surrounded by foliage. The side of this building facing the camera is made of several woven panels. This photograph does not have an individual caption but appears on a page with ALB1410.35-39 captioned 'CEYLON' at the top (centre) and 'COLOMBO' at the foot (left of page).
