Gateway Stour Head
Faint graphite sketch of a castellated gateway at Stourhead in Wiltshire. The drawing is the work of naval officer Aiskew Paffard Hollis (1764–1844). After his retirement of active service in 1821, Hollis lived at his estate at Highfield, near Southampton, and toured around various parts of England. He visited Stourhead on one such tour. For other examples of Hollis’s work, see PAH4885 and ZBB0352–84.
