Technique includes etching.; Hand-coloured. Until the British takeover of Mauritius in 1810, the Moulin à Poudre (Powder Mill; misspelt Moulin à Pondre in the engraved title of this print) at Pamplemousses was the main supplier of gunpowder on the island.
