Print. The full title, here only imperfectly transcribed, appears from another copy (PAJ3927) to be 'Rear Admiral Sir Francis Beaufort, hydrographer to the navy from 1829 to 1855. From the original portrait presented to Greenwich Hospital by the subscribers to the Beaufort Testimonial.' That is, engraved from BHC2541, itself a version of the image of Beaufort in the group portrait of 'The Arctic Council' , 1851 (National Portrait Gallery).
