A port broadside depiction of the British paddle steamer John Bull with a square-rigged fore mast and fore-and-aft rigged main and mizzen masts. ‘JOHN BULL / No 23’ is inscribed on the paddle box. In the left foreground are two men sailing in a small boat with a mast aft rig.
