H.M.S. Britannia 120 Guns (late Guard ship at Portsmouth) Firing a Royal Salute on her Majesty's Birthday
Lithograph showing the 'Britannia' in port-quarter view, firing a royal salute on the queen's birthday (presumably Queen Victoria's). In 1859 'Britannia' became the Naval Cadet Training Ship at Portsmouth, before being moved to Portland in 1862 and Dartmouth in the same role in 1863. It was broken up in 1869 after being replaced with another vessel renamed 'Britannia', as is the Britannia Royal Naval College which eventually succeeded the training ships at Dartmouth from 1902/3.
