Sheerness Dockyard

Sir James Caird (Caird Fund) bought a drawing of Sheerness Dockyard, as by John Nixon, for £25 with three others from Colnaghi's on 1 October 1948 (invoice date). There is no other NMM image by Nixon which answers to that description. The invoiced group comprised PAD9066 (by R. Dighton), PAH3218 (Nixon), PAD8919 (Wilkie) and PAF5807 (Isaac Cruikshank).
