British Queen The longest ship in the world

Hand-coloured lithograph showing the British Queen (1838), port view, with an inscription, 'British Queen. The longest ship in the world. Built by messrs Curling & Co. London', with a vignette of the stern included in the centre of the inscription. To the left are inscribed the dimensions of the British Queen, and to the right, the dimensions of H.M.S. Howe, 120 guns. This ship was a pioneering steam vessel, and from 1839-40 was the largest passenger liner in the world.
