Java and Constitution 29 December 1812

Signed by artist and dated. This is one of a group of four drawings (PAH9536-9539) of the 'Java' and 'Constitution' action, which were well catalogued as nos 57-60 in the NMM Pocock exhibition of 1975, but it will require inspection of images to confirm which is which. They related to Pocock's four published plates of the action, also in the collection, which indicate that all were based on sketches by Lieutenant Buchanan, who was present. [PvdM 10/08]
