The Indiaman Monarch

Ship portrait. 'The Indiaman Monarch'. The 600 ton 'Monarch' first entered service with the East India Company in 1801 under the ownership of Peter E. Mestaer. The vessel's first voyage was to the Bay of Bengal captained by John Craig. Four further journeys to the east were undertaken with the last departing for Madeira and Bengal in June 1810 and returning to English waters in April 1812.
