ship's lantern
An early example of Columb's hand lamp with a spring candle holder, which was adapted for many forms of naval lanterns. Identical to one offered to the museum in 1970 as coming from the German battle cruiser 'Seidlitz' scuttled in Scapa Flow in 1919 (marked with name of Berlin maker).
