Official boat badge of HMS Chrysanthemum

The boat badge of HMS 'Chrysanthemum' 1917. An official design, the pattern approved in May 1923. On a green field, a gold chrysanthemum. The badge is diamond-shaped with a gold rope twist border representing an auxiliary. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. HMS 'Chrysanthemun' was an Anchusa-class sloop, built by Amstrong Whitworth and launched in 1917. She was engaged in convoy protection duties in the latter stages of the First World War and evacuated British national from Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War. From 1938, she was moored on the Thames for use as a drill ship by the RNR. She was decommissioned and sold in 1988 when the RNR moved to a shore base. She was broken up in 1995.
