Badge: Order of the Bath, 3rd class (military)
Order of the Bath of Rear Admiral Sir John Ross. The breast badge is suspended from a red ribbon and has a gold rimmed eight pointed cross with a gold ball on each point, and white enamel. There are three gold crowns in the centre separated by a rose, thistle and shamrock. A motto is inscribed on the red enamel band: "TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO" and is surrounded by a green laurel wreath. A blue enamel scroll is marked: "ICH DEIN". The badge is hallmarked on the obverse and reverse, on leaves below the suspension bar.
On 24 December 1834, John Ross then still a captain, was knighted and made a Companion of the Bath.
